For the 2026 show season, French young rider team member Mathilde Juglaret is trying the waters at Grand Prix level with her mother, Anne Sophie Serre's French team horse Jibraltar de Massa.
Jibraltar de Massa is a 12-year old Portuguese sport horse bred stallion by San Mour out of Riviera de la Font (by Hohenstein). He is bred by Sylvain Massa
From Youth Level to Grand Prix
Having grown up in a family of professional horse riders, Mathilde Juglaret has already competed 10 different horses from children level to Under 25 Grand Prix. They are Scarletto, Venise de Massa, Caporal de Massa, Danjano, Alquazar de Massa, Lady Lou, Lightning Star, Jibraltar de Massa, and Orien Xpress de Massa, and Finest Pearl des Paluds.
She represented France at six European youth championships, the first at the 2017 European Children Championships, where she finished second in the individual test. With Caporal she showed at the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 European Junior Riders Championships, scoring kur bronze in 2022. Jibraltar was her ride at the 2023 European Young Riders Championships for a 29th place in the individual test.

Horse Swap
This year the family decided to do a horse swap: mum Anne Sophie has taken over the ride on Lightning Star, while Mathilde took over the reins on Jibraltar, which her mother rode at the 2025 European Championships in Crozet for Team France. They were 42nd in the Grand Prix with 67.407%. Anne Sophie was also French team reserve for the 2024 Olympics, but did not get to ride down that centerline to stamp her as an Olympian.
Mathilde rode Jibraltar in her junior and young rider years between 2022 and 2023 so is very familiar with the stallion. Previously she got a feel for the Grand Prix moves on her stepfather Arnaud Serre's French team horse Ultrablue de Massa.

"I’d like to try (for the World Championships in) Aachen," Mathilde confirmed to Eurodressage. "We’ll see depending on how we get on with the seniors. If we're not ready yet, we’ll fall back on the U25."
The new duo debuted at the regional show in St Remy de Provence in February, but did not have their anticipated start and tried again more successfully last weekend at the regional show at the Club Hippique Aix Marseille, where they got 68,152% in the Pro Elite Grand Prix Préparatoire test. From there they will go to the CDN Cluny and head to Vierzon next.
"We’ll be taking part in the French Championships and we’ll plan the rest of the schedule based on the results," she explained.
