The Danish Equestrian Federation has announced that the annual Danish Young Horse Championships will be taking place in Herning during the CDI-W.
The Danish Equestrian Federation and World Cup Herning have entered into a three-year cooperation agreement that makes World Cup Herning the official host of the Danish Championships for young dressage horses.
"The collaboration runs until the end of 2028 and is based on a shared ambition to create the best possible framework for the education, evaluation and development of young dressage horses. The championship is a central part of the development of young horses in Danish dressage sport," the Danish federation stated.
Investing in Denmark's Future
Jens-Erik Majlund, Secretary General of the Danish Equestrian Federation, commented that, "the championship is an important part of the development of Danish dressage sport and gives young horses the opportunity to be educated and showcased under optimal conditions. With World Cup Herning as a partner, we get a strong player who shares our ambition to invest in the talent of the future."
Casper Cassøe Krüth, show director of the CDI-W Herning, said, "for us, it is a natural extension of World Cup Herning's role as a gathering point for Danish and international equestrian sport, and we look forward to helping create a strong final experience for riders, breeders and the audience."
Six Qualifiers and a Finals
The best 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year-old horses compete through a series of qualification events before the season culminates with the finals at the World Cup Herning in October.
Six qualifiers take place between August and September 2026 in Randbol, Kristinelund, Vallensbaek, Mårslet, Aalborg, and Frederiksvark. The best placed combinations will then qualify for the final at the World Cup Herning, which will be held on October 12-18, 2026.
