2026 French Young Horse Championships

The 4-year old Miami Vice de Hus,, the 5-year old Lynch de Pelemeg, and the 6-year old Furstin Toto LH became the winners of the 2026 French Young Horse Championships held in Le Mans on 11 - 13 September 2026.

A System to the Madness

The French Young Horse Nationals are hosted by the Societe Hippique Française (SHF) and were held for ponies and horses. They work with a very complex system of parallel divisions: the "Cycle Classique" classes (championnat and criterium) and the "Cycle Libre" classes. Entries depend on the amateur or professional licence of the rider, but some riders can compete in both divisions nonetheless.

In addition, there are three rounds and the points get a coefficient. For the 4- and 5-year olds they have the preliminary test (coeff 0), a conformation class (coeff 0,3) and the Finals test (coeff 2). For the 6-year olds there is a coefficient of 9 for the preliminary test and a coefficient of 1 for the finals test, meaning the preliminary was just a warm-up round and only the finals test counted.

Eurodressage annually reports on the "cycle classique" division which is open to French registered or bred horses.

4-YO: Miami Vice de Hus

Jessica Michel-Botton made her return to the podium for the gold medal on the 4-year old Miami Vice de Hus, a Selle Français registered horse by Dream Boy x Don Juan de Hus. The pair posted the winning scores of 92.800% in the preliminary round, 86.000% in the conformation class, and 92.400% in the finals test to finish on a winning total of 91.565 points. Miami Vice was purchased by Gilles Botton and Claudia Chauchard in the Haras de Hus liquidation sale and later Botton secured full ownership of the horse as a Christmas gift to his wife Jessica in December 2025.

Guillaume Gautier and the Selle Français registered Majestic G (by Escolador x Sandreo) landed second place overall with 79.400% in the first round, 85.000% for conformation, and 81.000% in the finals test to total 81.522 points.

Alizee Roussel and the Selle Français registered Massai Ishtarball (by Furstenball x Jazz) were good for bronze after posting 79.200% in the first round, 78.750% for conformation, and 80.800% in the finals. They totalled 80.533 points.

5-YO: Lynch de Pelemeg

There were only three competitors in the 5-year old division so everybody was a medalist. The winner was Laetitia Isselin aboard Lynch de Pelemeg (by Millennium x Negro) who totalled 81,159%. He is bred by Mélanie Giraud. The horse got 69.400% in the first round, 78.750 for conformation and 81.400 in the finals.

Germain Le Goff and Lennon (by Galaxie x Mighty Magic)) got silver with a total of 77,205% after earning 75.400%, 81.250% and 76.800%. The bronze was for Le Goff aboard Lazzara (by Galaxie x Smetana) with a total of 76,455%. This horse got 72.800%, 81.000%, and 76.000%.

6-YO: Furstin Toto LH

Last year's 5-year old champions, Charlotte Chalvignac Vesin and the Hanoverian registered Furstin Toto LH (by Furst Toto x Ampere), reclaimed the title in the 6-year old division. Bred by Jean Claude Ferrand, the chestnut mare scored 83.200% in the preliminary test and 82.800% in the final for the win. This is Furstin Toto's third consecutive national young horse title.

Alizee Roussel and the Hanoverian registered Ludwig (by Lord Loxley x Quaterback) got the silver after posting 80,400 in the final while Eva Bas and Bolette Wandt's Oldenburg bred Galilee de Fontaine (by Global Player x San Amour) got bronze with 80,000
