Former Dutch young rider team member Diana van de Bovenkamp has sold her number one, Evita Ronia, to aspiring Dutch junior rider Levy Janssen.

Evita Ronia is a 12-year old Dutch warmblood mare by Westpoint out of Anne (by Oscar x Darling). She is bred by A. Smals-de Jong.

As a 3-year old mare Evita Ronia finished fifth at the 2016 KWPN Mare Championship in Ermelo after being proclaimed keur.

Dutch YR Team Horse

The dark bay mare sold to Dutch junior team rider Diana van de Bovenkamp in 2016 as her young riders' hopeful.

The pair made its international show debut at the CDI Lier in February 2018 and also competed in Nieuw en St. Joosland. They were selected on the Dutch team for the 2018 European Young Riders Championships in Fontainebleau and earned team silver. Individually they landed just off the podium in fourth place in the individual test and freestyle.

In 2019 Diana and Evita Ronia competed at the CDI's in Nieuw en St. Joosland, Hagen and Exloo, but did not make it back on the Dutch team for the summer Europeans. They won silver at the 2019 Dutch Indoor Winter Championships at YR level and were fifth at the 2019 Dutch Young Riders Championships.

Their last international together was the 2020 CDI Lier in the senior small tour right before the corona outbreak.

Junior Schoolmaster

Van de Bovenkamp has now sold Evita Ronia to the 16-year old Levy Janssen, who aims to compete her at junior level.

"Sometimes it's your head over your hearth and that is why I sold her," Diana told eurodressage. "That fact that I will coach Levy also played a deciding role. Levy is a very ambitious girl and we both want to go for it. Evita will stay with me at my stable in the beginning so that the two will get to know each other, before Evita moves to Levy's home."

Van de Bovenkamp will continue her competitive career on the former licensed stallion Badr (by Breezer x Wolfgang), who is ready to be shown at small tour level.
