Pierre LC, Champion of the 2023 DSP Stallion Licensing in Neustadt-Dosse

The KWPN bred Pierre LC  (by Furstenball x Jazz) was named the champion of the dressage lot at the 2023 DSP Stallion Licensing which was held at the Brandenburg state stud in Neustadt-Dosse on 3 March 2023. 

A collection of 22 dressage bred stallions was presented and this time the selection happened more strictly with only six licensed. Two were named premium. 

Furstenball x Jazz

The dark bay Pierre LC is by Fürstenball out of the KWPN registered mare Fyorieta Texel  (by Jazz x Caritas). He is bred by A. van der Linden in the Netherlands and was named the champion of the licensing. He is owned by Kerstin Aschenbeck.

“We saw a very good looking horse here, a beautifully developed stallion who presented himself well-muscled and powerful," said Dietmar Schulz, Sports Commissioner. "It was noticeable how he managed the lunge work with good contact. He excelled at the trot and canter, was always in balance. 

The champion sold in the online auction, for which the bidding concluded on 7 March 2023. He had a hammer price of 70,000 euro and will stay in Germany.

The reserve champion is bred and owned by the Brandenburg State Stud in Neustadt. A Ben Benicio out of Poesie III (by Brentano II x Gotland) was the runner-up.

"A very modern and sporty stallion who presented himself convincingly in the trot work on the lunge line and with good self carriage," the committee commented.

Further Licensed

The further licensed stallions were

  • nn. (by Vivaldos x Finest x Babsi) - Breeder & Owner: Wolfgang Regele --> sold for 21,500 euro

The most expensive non-licensed stallion at auction was the Totilas x Foundation, bred and owned by Markus Schulze, which had a hammer price of 23,500 euro and will stay in Germany. A non-licensed Escamillo x Sandro Hit, owned by Julia Voitglander, sold to the U.S.A. for 21,000 euro. All other horses went for prices under 20,000 euro.
