Mathilde Juglaret, a French youth team rider and the 2022 European Junior Kur Bronze medal winner, has received the ride on Lady Lou for the 2024 show season.

Lady Lou is a rising 8-year old Hanoverian mare by Londontime out of Sinja (by Stedinger x Coriander). She is bred by Artur Janczak.

Marion Dautzenberg

Initially owned by German amateur dressage rider Marion Dautzenberg, the bay mare made her show debut as a 5-year old at M-level a local show in Aachen in October 2021. Dautzenberg competed her at M-level through 2022 at regional shows in the Rhineland area.

In 2023 Marion sold Lady Lou to Belgian Piet Lenskens and German horse dealer Jochen Arl. Lenskens produced the mare to small tour level at his yard in Peer, Belgium.

Arl has now given the ride on Lady Lou to French young rider Mathilde Juglaret for the 2024 show season.

Mathilde Juglaret and Lady Lou
Mathilde will produce Lady Lou to Grand Prix level under the watchful eyes of her mom, French Grand prix rider Anne-Sophie and stepdad Arnaud Serre, and campaign her at CDI's this spring and summer at Young Riders level.

"Jochen has entrusted me with Lou as my new little star for the 2024 season," Mathilde told Eurodressage. "Working with a big boss like Jochen is a real honour, it makes me so so happy, especially when a princess like Lady Lou comes home! She’s such a charming mare, bursting with quality. I think we all fell in love with her hind legs. She’s still very young but already showing absolutely incredible piaffe, Lou’s future looks bright, I hope!"

The season's goal is to qualify her on the French team for the 2024 European Young Riders Championships in St. Margarethen in Austria in July. First the pair is getting acquainted as she arrived in France this week.

"We’re getting to know each other every day, and we’ll obviously start the season with a few national competitions before going on our first CDIs between March and April, I think," said Mathilde. "The aim is obviously to train Lou for the Grand Prix, while at the same time working together in the Young Riders and give the best of ourselves there."

Supporting Young Professionals

Mathilde welcomes Lady Lou
"I was looking to support a new, young professional to support and supply horses with," said Lady Lou's owner Jochen Arl. "Mathilde is very talented and has the strong team around her to train horses to Grand Prix level. She has proven herself with Caporal de Massa and I'm eager to see what she can accomplish with my horse."

The 19-year old Juglaret has represented France at six European Championships in seven years time from Children to Young Riders level. Her team horses were Scarletto, Venise de Massa, Caporal de Massa, and Jibraltar de Massa. She won the French Junior Riders Champion's title three years in a row (2020-2021-2022).
