The highly decorated German team pony Cyrill will go into full retirement.  He took seven riders into the international arena.

Cyrill is an 18-year old German Riding Pony stallion by Champion de Luxe x Power Boy. He is bred by Anja van Hoorn and owned by Stefanie Krause.

Multiple Team Pony

Cyrill was licensing champion and Bundeschampion, who competed at three European Pony Championships with three different riders.

Under the owner's daughter Nadine Krause he represented Germany at the 2015 European Pony Championships where they won double individual silver.

In 2016 Inga Katharina Schuster took him to the European Pony Championships in Vilhelmsborg and got silver in the individual test, but retired in the Kur.

Jana Lang rode him from 2017 through 2018 and represented Germany at the 2017 and 2018 European Pony Championships, winning team gold and two times individual test bronze.

In 2018 the stallion was allocated to Melina Thelemann, but never went to a CDI. Instead she showed the pony at nationals shows from 2018 till July 2020.

In 2021 it was Jona-Emily Bomberg's turn who successfully rode him at CDI's in Sint-Truiden, Hagen, Kronberg, Zandhoven and Ornago but did not clinch selection of a very competitive team spot.

In 2022 it was Viktoria von Braunmühl's time on the palomino. First trained by Anna Abbelen before switching to Tara Schneider, Viktoria competed Cyrill at the CDI's in Motesice, Troisdorf; Hagen and Le Mans this year with consistent scores in the seventies. The pair finished 8th at the 2022 German Pony Championships at the end of the season.

In 2023 the ride was allocated to Mia Steinbusch under the supervision of Tara Schneider at Gut Roemerhof. She first gained mileage at national level before making her CDI debut in October 2023 in Troisdorf. Half a year later they returned to the spring edition of 2024 CDI Troisdorf where they won the team and individual test. At the CDI Hagen they performed strongly in the CDI-P tour with a first place in the team test and a second in the Kur. This weekend they competed their last show at the CDI Aachen Young Stars and were 9th in the Kur to Music. At the German Pony Championships they were 10th in 2023 and 5th in 2024.

Retirement

With one final appearance scheduled at the Ferienhof Stucker stallion show next weekend, Cyrill will go into full retirement at his owner, Stefanie Krause-Rothenberger's place at Gestut Erlenhof in Bad Homburg.
