Andreas Helgstrand has sold the 6-year old licensed breeding Quaterhit and the 6-year old dressage horse Don Vito de Hus to French dressage rider Dominique Degueldre.
Quaterhit is by Quatergold out of Poetin III (by Sandro Hit x Brentano II). He was originally licensed in Germany for the German Sport Horse studbook (DSP) and then moved to Denmark, where he finished second in the 35-day stallion performance test.
As a sport horse, Quaterhit had a very limited career. With Kenneth Damgaard he only competed at two qualifiers in Denmark and then the 2018 Danish Young Horse Championships, where he finished fourth. It was the horse's last competition.
Degueldre also purchased the 6-year old Don Vito de Hus (by Don Juan de Hus x De Niro), who originally came from France. Bred by Elisabeth Rütz in Germany and purchased by French Xavier Marie as a youngster, Don Vito was trained and competed by the French Jessica Michel-Botton. The pair finished 14th in the Finals at the 2019 World Young Horse Championships, after which he sold to Helgstrand. The Danish horse dealer has now sold the horse back to France.
"Quarterhit is doing very well here in France. He is already liked by everyone in the stable – he is charming everyone with his good spirit and then he just loves to show off when ridden," said Dominique Deguelde. "I ride him a couple of times per week and other than that, my trainer, Stephanie Brieussel, rides him, because I don’t have the experience to educate him on this level. My goal is for him to make his debut in Prix St. George next year."
