The Swiss Sport Horse Association (ACSS) has named Antonella Joannou's Grand Prix horse Dandy de la Roche the Swiss Horse of the Year 2020.
The duo represented Switzerland at the 2018 World Equestrian Games. In 2020 they became the reserve champions at the Swiss Dressage Championships.
Six horses were nominated for the 2020 Swiss Horse of the Year title and the winner was chosen by a jury of expert, including Marc Friedl (president of the ACSS), Daniel Steinmann (president of the FECH), Sascha Dubach (journalist Pferdewoche), and Alban Poudret (journalist Cavalier Romand).
Bred by Carine, Muriel and Françoise Trembley d'Ogens, Dandy de la Roche is a 16-year old Swiss warmblood gelding by Dressage Royal out of Washari (by Walt Disney). He was acquired by Joannou as a 3-year old and she trained him to international Grand Prix level.
