The Danish team pony Dot Com has been retained for Denmark through a lease purchase for aspiring FEI pony rider Sofia Rosenkilde.
Dot Com is a 14-year old Danish sport pony mare of unknown origin.
Aagot Jabina
The 139 cm category II pony began its show career in Denmark as a 6-year old.
She was first competed by Frederikke Aagot Jabina in 2013. In 2016 the pair finished 10th in category II at the Danish Pony Championships.
The pair consistently showed at national FEI pony level until the summer of 2018.
Gert Nielsen
In the autumn of 2018, Dot Com sold to Josephine Gert Nielsen, who had a successful 2.5-year partnership with the mare.
They made their international show debut in May 2019 at the CDI-P Uggerhalne, where they won the individual and freestyle test. They Competed at the CDI-P Hagen and scored team gold and category II individual gold at the 2019 Nordic Baltic Championships in Aarhus
In 2019 they finished the year with a gold medal in category II at the Danish Pony Championships, two victories at the CDI Waregem, and top 5 placings at the CDI Aachen Indoor. In 2020 they proved form at the CDI Lier right before the corona pandemic hit.
While smaller ponies are usually not picked for Danish team selection for the European Pony Championships, in 2020 Dot Com's outstanding scores put her on the national team. They earned team silver at the 2020 European Pony Championships in Budapest and placed 12th individually.
Rosekilde
Although Gert Nielsen has two more years on ponies to go, she decided that her partnership with the smaller Dot Com has come to an end.
"I felt the timing was right for her to move on to a new rider," Nielsen told Ridehesten. "She deserves full attention and I want to focus more on my other ponies. I'm really happy with the decision, even though it was difficult in the car on our way home after dropping her off."
Gert Nielsen will move on with 9-year old German riding pony Ceramonte B (by Calido G x Cui Bona) and the 7-year old German riding pony Timm's My Fritz (by Grenzehohes My Fireball x Orchard D'Avranches).
Sofia Rosenkilde is no newcomer to pony sport. She made her national show debut in Denmark in February 2018 on Welsh pony Cloigen Jepson (by Millcroft Copper Lustre x Rhoson Maori) and in 2019 she began competing Danish sport pony Skovlyst's Nikita (by Bolero x Oxelholm Sherluck), which she has shown through 2020.
