Caracciola MT Succumbs to Colic

Sissy Max-Theurer's 9-year old Grand Prix horse Caracciola MT has passed away. Despite all veterinary care, the stallion succumbed to colic. 

Caracciola MT was a 2013 born Holsteiner stallion by Chin Champ out of Zarina IV (by Calido I x Literat). He was bred by Miriam-Kathleen Haak.

He was named him after the German race car driver Rudolf Caracciola, who won won the European Drivers' Championship, the pre-1950 equivalent of the modern Formula One World Championship.

Licensed Stallion

Licensed at the 2016 South German Stallion Licensing in Munich-Riem as premium stallion, Caracciola MT was first based at Sissy Max-Theurer's Gestut Vorwerk in Cappeln, Germany.

The grey did his 14-day suitability test in Neustadt/Dosse in the spring of 2016 and scored a total of 8.60 points. His first sport test as a 4-year old he did as a jumper in Munich, scoring 7.83 points. At his second sport test as a 5-year old he scored 8.39 for dressage and was the the high scorer of the testing.

Yvonne Henke started Caracciola's sport career in Germany in 2017. A year later Melanie Tewes took over the ride. They won the international 5-year old classes at their home CDI in Cappeln and finished the year with a 9th place at the 2018 Bundeschampionate. 

In 2019 the pair was selected to represent Germany at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo. As a warm up show they were entered in the CDI Cappeln, but twice withdrew in the warm-up. In Ermelo the pair finished 11th in the 6-year old consolation finals.,

Their first big moment of sport glory came at the 2019 Bundeschampionate where Tewes and Caracciola MT scored the bronze medal in the 6-year old finals. 

In 2020 Tewes competed him at two CDI's at Max-Theurer's yard in Achleiten, Austria, where he won twice in the 7-year old tests.

In January 2021 Caracciola M moved to Denmark to be developed to Grand Prix level by Danish squad rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen,

That year they mainly showed in Germany on the Nurnberger Burgpokal circuit for developing Prix St Georges and made it to the finals after two horses dropped out. At the Finals in Kronberg they finished seventh. 

Caracciola did his first national medium tour test in February 2022 in Denmark and twice competed in a national Intermediaire II class in March. 

St-Georg first reported the passing of "Chicchi" from colic.
