Semmieke Rothenberger Buys Westfalian Young Pony Champion Cascada Rose

German Grand Prix rider Semmieke Rothenberger seems to have found her niche in pony sport. She has acquired the 2022 Westfalian Young Pony Champion Cascada Rose.

Cascada Rose is a 3-year old Westfalian mare by Cosmopolitan D out of state premium mare Cascada Royale (by Casino Royale K), bred and previously owned by Danica Duen.

Cascada Rose is the full sister to the licenses stallion Cosmo Royale and half sister to Bundeschampion Herzzauber.

The liver chestnut mare recently won the 2022 Westfalian Young Pony Championhip, after which Rothenberger decided to buy her. Duen and Cascada Rose qualified for the Bundeschampionate through that victory and yesterday placed fourth with 8.2. in the 3-year old mares and geldings warm-up round.

"I can't let her pass by," Rothenberger said about Cascada Rose. "This excellent 3-year old hopeful dominates with her presence, expression and a balance which has no equal."

Health Rollercoaster

Semmieke Rothenberger is the 2021 European Under 25 Kur Champion and at the start of 2022 made her senior Grand Prix debut. Unfortunately an injury to her achilles heel had sidelined since June, as Semmieke went on a physical health roller coaster. After her heel, she got infected with Covid-19 and developed myocarditis twice on top of that. Semmie finally overcame those physical hurdles and is allowed to start riding again this week.

The past year and during her recovery, Rothenberger has been building her business as a pony trainer, scouting and dealing ponies for her clients, who she also trains at her home, Gestut Erlenhof in Bad Homburg, Germany.

Glucksbringer E

Cascada Rose is not the first pony she bought for herself. After the 2021 Westfalian Pony Stallion Licensing, she purchased Ulrike Eibach's 2.5-year old licensed stallion Glücksbringer E (by Glück Auf A / Top Non Stop II) who was competed this season by Mareike Mimberg.
