Albrecht Heidemann Appointed New Colombian Dressage Team Trainer

The German born Canadian dressage coach Albrecht Heidemann has been appointed the new National Dressage Team trainer for Colombia.

He succeeds Canadian Shannon Dueck

German Expat

Heidemann is a native from Germany and got his Bereiter certificate as an apprentice of Conrad Schumacher. He also worked with Josef Neckermann and was a team gold medal winner on the German team at the 1985 European Young Riders Championships.

Albrecht first began training oversees in the U.S.A. before finding a base in Canada. In the 2000s Heidemann was coach of Canada’s young riders program for almost a decade.

His most prolific student in recent years is Camille Carier Bergeron. He also oversaw the successes of youth riders Pia Fortmuller, Alex Duncan, Jade Deter, Mathilde Blais-Tetreault and Megan Lane. Crystal Kroetch was a memberof Canada’s silver medal team at the 2011 Pan Am Games.

Colombian Team Trainer

Albrecht has already been conducting several clinics in Colombia in 2022 and last weekend attended the 2022 Colombian Dressage Championships.
