Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and the 10-year old Forsazza de Malleret will not be competing at the 2023 Louisdor Cup Finals for Developing Grand Prix horses in Frankfurt next week.

"She’s not 100 percent fit," Jessica confirmed to Eurodressage.

Forsazza de Malleret is an Olenburg mare by For Romance out of Sariza (by Sarkozy x Don Davidoff). She is bred by Paul Schockemöhle at Gestut Lewitz.

Sold to France as a youngster, the mare moved into the ownership of Gerald Martinez of Haras de Malleret near Bordeaux.  The mare was reared and first trained at the owner's yard and in January 2020 put in training with Jessica von Bredow-Werndl to develop her to FEI level. Six months later Jessica bought the horse for herself.

In 2022 Forsazza de Malleret made her international show debut at small tour level in Ornago, Italy, finishing third. A month later she showed her at the CDI Stadl Paura, where she was also third. The mare was partly sold to client Matthias Sohler, whose daughter Marie Sohler also owns Jessica's former horse Sir Max, as well as World Young horse champion Global Player

Forsazza's international Grand Prix debut was at the CDI Wiener Neustadt in October 2023, where she won the Special with 72.575%. She qualified for the Louisdor Cup Finals by winning the qualifier at Schafhof in Kronberg with 72,638%.

Schöne Scarlett

Helen Langehanenberg and Schöne Scarlett have now received the vacant slot as they were the reserve pair for the Finals.

Schöne Scarlett FRH is a 10-year old Hanoverian mare by Scolari x Londonderry, bred and owned by Heidi and Wilfried Bouws.

The mare was competed by a string of riders as a youngster. She was first started by Johannes Geibel, before moving to Philip Hess.  In 2018 Leslie Rohrbacher rode her to a silver medal at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. In 2019 they were 12th in the Bundeschampionate finals. In February 2020 Bouws had moved the mare to Inka Rossek, but that was brief. She then found a more permanent training barn with Helen Langehanenberg, who gave the ride to her student Shona Benner in 2022 for the junior classes. Afterwards Helen took over and produced the mare to Grand Prix level.  The pair placed third in the Louisdor cup qualifier in Elmlohe with 73.747%.

"I introduced Schöne Scarlett FRH to the Grand Prix class very carefully and gave her the time she needed over the year," said Helen. "She recently showed what potential she has with her Inter II victory and her second place in the short Grand Prix in Oldenburg. Now I'm really pleased that we can be part of the competition for the best young Grand Prix horses in Germany as a reserve pair."
