German junior rider Shona Benner has received the ride on Helen Langehanenberg's small tour horse Schöne Scarlett FRH for the junior show circuit.

Schöne Scarlett FRH is a 9-year old Hanoverian mare by Scolari x Londonderry, bred and owned by Heidi and Wilfried Bouws.

Geibel, Hess, Rohrbacher, Rossek

Schöne Scarlett  was first trained and competed by Johannes Geibel, before moving to Philip Hess. In 2018 it was Leslie Rohrbacher who continued to produce her and they were successful on the 2018 Bundeschampionate show circuit, winning the Uder qualifier followed by a silver medal in Warendorf. In 2019 they were 12th in the Bundeschampionate finals.

In February 2020 Bouws had moved the mare to Inka Rossek, but that partnership was very short-lived. Schöne Scarlett was moved again to Helen Langehanenberg, who made her show debut on the mare in Nottuln at the end of May 2020. In 2021 they made their international show debut in Aachen, winning the Prix St Georges and in December 2021 they were the reserve champions in the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier in Kronberg.

Shona Benner

Langehanenberg has temporarily given the ride on Schöne Scarlett to her student, German junior Shona Benner, who in September 2021 also got the ride on the Warendorf state stud stallion Velvet.

Benner represented Germany at the 2019 and 2020 European Pony Championships with Der Kleine Sunnyboy. They won team, individual and kur bronze in 2019, and team gold in 2020. She made the transition to junior level on Brisbane (by Belissimo M x Furst Heinrich) in 2021 and was selected on the German team for the 2021 Europeans but had to pull out due to an injury. The mare has not yet returned to sport since then.

"Schöne Scarlett FRH will in future be ridden by my student Shona Benner, who also recommended herself straight away for the selection trial for the Preis der Besten in Langenfeld," said Helen Langehanenberg. "I had a lot of fun training this highly talented and always ready to perform mare (...) I am very happy to be able to accompany her further on her way with the also very talented Shona. The two have already given a first taste of how well the new pair harmonises. And for the future, it was planned that I will also sit in Scarletti's saddle again myself."
