The Dutch Equestrian Federation (KNHS) has founded and launched the NOP Talent Plan and signed three horses to its development project.

The NOP Talent Plan (NOPT) has as goal to retain dressage talent in The Netherlands. The KNHS already has the NOP project, which  financially supports established Grand Prix horses, but now it will also provide financial support to the owners of rising Grand Prix horses aged between 7 and 9 so these horses won't be sold.

A selection day for the NOPT was held on 22 April 2024 and a committee of four, including Patrick van der Meer and Alex van Silfhout, assessed the horses. Three were selected and will get support from the NOPT for one year. Their development will be closely monitored.

"There was a strong group of young horses entered for the selection. It was a difficult choice to make. The three horses we picked show very much potential for the big work," said Van Der Meer.

The NOPT selected horses are:

  • Hexagons Luxuriouzz (8)YO KWPN by Johnson x San Remo) - Thamar Zweistra
  • Kuvasz (9-YO KWPN by Glamourdale x De Niro) - Marieke van der Putten
  • Koko jr de la Fazenda (9-YO KWPN by Toto JR x Romanov) - Thalia Rockx
