Nero, the young horse which Bart Veeze rode in two finals at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, has been sold to the U.S.A.

The bay gelding is originally named Nero Platinum and is bred by Indonesian entrepreneur Titan Wilaras who owned Platinum stable in Riel, The Netherlands. In 2019 Dutch horse dealers Rom Vermunt and Harald & Jeanette Bruinier bought the yearling in a blow-out sale from Wilaras.
As a youngster the ride was allocated to Bart Veeze who first rode the gelding into the spotlight in 2021 by finishing fourth in the VSN Trophy Finals.
In 2022 the pair placed fourth in the 4-year old challenge at the 2022 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo and ended up 15th in the Pavo Cup Finals. At the end of the year the pair won the Subli Cup finals for four year olds in Amsterdam (January 2023).
In 2023 Nero got selected for the Dutch team for the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo and placed 10th in the Finals. He was supposed to compete in the Subli Cup Finals in Amsterdam again, but got withdrawn due to a hoof abscess.
In 2024 Veeze and Nero returned to the World Young Horse Championships and this time placed 6th in the 6-year old finals.
Sold to the U.S.A.
Nero has now been sold to the U.S.A. He will continue his sport career under 30-year old Natalia Bonavito.
The Bonavito family owns Toyon Farm in Napa Valley, CA, and spend winters in Wellington, Florida. Natalia’s sister Danielle is currently training in Europe. Last year she was with Cathrine Dufour, this year she’s working with Emmelie Scholtens.
