Blue Horst stud had sold its internationally competed small tour horse Blue Hors Farrell to South Africa.
Blue Hors Farrell is a 13-year old Hanoverian stallion by Furstenball out of desert Rose (by Dacaprio x Wolkenstein II). He is bred by Hans-Heinrich Plate.
Premium Stallion
Farrell was discovered as a foal by investor Dr. Kerstin Klieber who presented him at the 2013 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, where he was named premium stallion.
Blue Hors stud acquired him at auction for 460,000 euro.
He was approved for Oldenburg two months later and in March 2014 accepted for Danish warmblood.
Farrell did his 35-day stallion performance test in Vilhelmsborg in the autumn of 2015 and scored 8.57 for dressage. He achieved his life-time licence through sport.
Sport Career
He was first competed in Denmark as a 5-year old by Allan Goon in the summer of 2016. He did not qualify for the 2016 Danish Young Horse Championships after finishing 30th in the semi finals (75.2%). Almost a year later he returned to the arena at MB-level and finished 13th at the 2017 Danish Young Horse Championships for 6-year olds.
A two-year break from showing followed and in November 2019 he entered the arena with Nanna Skodborg Merrald at MA-level. The pair's international show debut at small tour level followed in 2020 at the CDI Vilhelmsborg, where they were third in the PSG (74.500%) and fourth in the Inter I (721.559%). They did two CDI's in 2021 (Le Mans and Hagen), one in 2022 (CDI herning) and one another year later in 2023, also in Herning, where they won the Prix St Georges with 74.206%. This was the horse's last show in his career, so far.
Sold to South Africa
Blue Hors has sold Farrell to Karen and Dominey Alexander of Cellehof SA in Blue Hills, South Africa.
"We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Blue Hors Farrell to Cellehof Stud, where he will continue his incredible career in South Africa," said Cellehof.
As a breeding stallion Farrell was quite popular, particularly in Denmark. He has bred 16 licensed sons of far, of which 6 made it into the German studbook I. Federer and For Real are probably the best known ones. Eight of his daughters are state premium in Germany. His oldest offspring is now close to small tour level.
