Bonds in Gold was named champion of the 2025 DSP Stallion Licensing in Munich on Saturday 25 January 2025.

Fifty dressage bred stallions were presented, 29 were licensed, and eight were named premium

Bonds in Gold Champion

The DSP registered Bonds in Gold was named the dressage champion by the DSP licensing committee even though the handsome and athletic young stallion paddled with both front legs. The liver chestnut colt out of Parame (by Goldberg x Rubin Royal x Gotland) is bred by Hendrik Niehe and was owned and presented by Gestut Schafhof. Matthias Rath purchased the colt for 27,500 euro at the 2022 DSP Foal Auction held at Schafhof on 16 July 2022. He was named Bonds in Gold at the foal auction and now at the licensing sold again at auction for 770,000 euro to Austrian Grand Prix rider Astrid Neumayer of Gestut Pramwaldhof.

The reserve champion was a For Romance x Floricello x Donnerhall colt, bred by Martin Sieverding and presented by Christa M. Seiler. He was not for sale and will stand at Tobias Schult's station.

The third ranked premium stallion was the Westfalian bred Vitalis x Borsalino, bred by Christoph Delsmann, and presented by Christiane Wiens. He sold at auction for 140,000 euro.

Unranked Premium Stallions

The DSP licensing committee failed to rank the other premium stallions and they were then all "fourth".

They are a Debutant PS x Benetton Dream owned by Gestüt Greim, a Donkey Boy x San Amour owned by Theo Lenzen, a Sir Donnerhall I / Totilas owned by Gestüt Schafhof (sold for 65.000 € to Peter Gmoser in Austria), a Va Bene x Vitalis owned by Franz Winklmaier (sold for 49.500 €), and a Vaderland x Don Schufro owned by the Dutchman Cees van den Oetelaar.

Auction

Nineteen dressage bred colts were put in the auction following the licensing.

The highest priced paid for a licensed, non-premium colt was 84,000 € paid for Willem and Marvin Klausing's Iron x Foundation. He was bought by Yara Reichert. The licensed Ellis x Diamond Hit, owned by Senf & Kampmann, sold to Damil Dressage for 76.000 €

65,000 € was paid by French clients for the Furst Zonik x Borsalino, owned by Corinna Raedecke. She also sold a second Furst Zonik x Borsalino that was non-licensed for 21,000 euro to Kirsten Mayne in the U.K..

Gestut Greim's licensed Jameson x Diamond Hit went for 51,000 euro to Ukraine. Also selling to Ukrainians was the licensed De Niro Gold x Formidabel. He went for 29,000 euro.

The most expensive non-licensed stallion was a Donier x Don Olymbrio L, owned by Andreas Meyer. He sold to Belgium for 102,000 euro.

A Total Diamond PS x Benicio, owned by Mathieu Beckmann. He sold for 70,000 €.

51,000 euro was paid for Ulrike Bachinger's Vitalis x Desperados as well as for Ib Berger and Mathieu Beckmann's Vitalis x Fürstenball. Gerd Sosath's Vivaldos x Bretton Woods, who was not licensed, sold for 40,000 euro.

Donier x Don Olymbrio L goes to Belgium

An Austrian bought Jill Jessica Mieleszko's licensed Quaterback x Belantis for 23,500 euro. The non-licensed Santos x Diamond Hit owned by Gestüt Greim sold for 18,500 euro. A non-licensed Dynamic Dream x Benicio, owned by Mathieu Beckmann, sold to Switzerland for 16,500 euro.

The average price for a licensed stallion was significantly boosted by the champion stallion so it was 81,301 euro. A non licensed stallion cost 21,955 euro.
