The former Danish team pony Lykkehøjs Dream of Dornik has been sold to a new rider after having served five years as schoolmaster for Danish pony riders Jasmin and Isabella Struntze Torp.

Lykkehøjs Dream of Dornik is a 17-year old Danish Sport Pony bred gelding by Melli's Dornik out of Monika (by Cupkehof's Winobert). He is bred by Helle and Jens Mouritsen.

Nathalie Thomassen

Under Nathalie Thomassen he made his international show debut at the 2019 CDI Sint-Truiden in Belgium, where he won the team test and placed second in the individual and Kur.

With successful starts in the CDI's in Aalborg, Uggerhalne and Hagen, the pair qualified on the Danish team for the 2019 European Pony Championships in Strzegom, where they won team gold and placed fourth in the individual test and seventh in the Kur.

In the turbulent 2020 corona year, Thomassen did not get the opportunity to compete internationally, but via national shows qualified for the team for the 2020 European Pony Championships in Pilisjaszfalu (HUN). The pair won team silver and placed 8th in the individual test and 5th in the Kur.

With Thomassen at the 2020 Europeans
Due to the corona pandemic, the 2020 European Pony Championships in Strzegom (POL) were cancelled in May. Dream of Dornik was put up for sale and sold in June 2020 to the Struntze Torp family. However, when both the Danish Nationals as well as the European Championships returned on the 2020 calendar, Struntze paid it forward and sent her pony back to Thomassen. At the 2020 Europeans held in Pilisjaszfalu they won team silver and were fifth in the Kur to Music.

Dream of Dornik moved to the Struntze Torp family in the autumn of 2020, while Thomassen disappeared from the international show scene for five years. She returned in May 2025 at Young Riders level with Grønhøjs's Lymbrio.

Struntze Torp

Onitially 13-year old Jasmin Struntze Torp took over the ride.

Jasmin debuted him in March 2021 at a national show in Skødstrup, but in November 2021 it was junior rider Sophia Boje Obel briefly onboard of the pony for one show.

In May 2022 Isabella Struntze Torp debuted Dream of Dornik in Randbøl. Half a year later in October 2022 the pair did its first CDI in Zakrzow, Poland, finishing three times in the top five.  They were sixth at the 2024 Danish Pony Championships

In 2023 Isabella competed the pony in two CDI's (Sint-Truiden and Aalborg) after which a long break from international showing followed, even though they continued competing nationally. They were fourth at the 2024 Danish Pony Championships. The duo returned to the CDI ring in October 2024 in Wroclaw for more top placings.  In 2025 they competed in Lier, at the Aachen Festival, Aalborg and the Nordic Baltic Championships in Ypaja, where they were second individually.

Move Abroad

Lykkehøjs Dream of Dornik has now been sold and will now continue his sport career with a new rider outside of Denmark.

"It is with tears in my eyes that I have to say goodbye to my best friend," said Isabella. "Dornik has been a part of our family since 2020 and all the way until the end of 2025. My sister took the reins on him, and after two years I took over the reins of Dornik. The best gift one could ever wish for. Without Dornik, I would never have had all the experiences and all the memories for a lifetime. Dornik is getting the world’s best family, where he can enjoy many years ahead."
