Jan Anker, a Dutch cheese entrepreneur and investor in dressage horses, has purchased the Glock Horse Performance Center in Oosterbeek, The Netherlands.

Horses.nl reported the news today.

From Glock to Anker

The late gun mogul Gaston Glock purchased and built the property in Oosterbeek in 2014 for their sponsored riders Edward Gal, Hans Peter Minderhoud, and trainer Nicole Werner. Their collaboration ended in December 2024 and the riders had to vacate the yard. Minderhoud moved to a barn in Voorthuizen (NED).

Already from the start when Glock stopped its entrepise into dressage horses Anker's name was tipped as the one who wanted to buy the state-of-the art facility. The property's interior design is a copy-cat design of Fiona Bigwood's Bourne Hill equestrian centre

Anker's name in the horse world popped up in 2021 when he became co-owner of Joop van Uytert's Olympic hopeful stallion Hermes (by Easy Game x Flemmingh). His daughters Eline and Malou are dressage riders.

With his company Anchor Excellent Horses he began investing in more horses, including the licensed breeding stallions Scaramouche (by Toto Jr), Super Saint (by St. Emilion) and Diamantenglim (by Diamantenglanz). He is also co-owner of Zauberbaron (by Integer), bought for voor 180,000 euro at the Trakehner licensing, and stallions Royal Dynamic (by Dynamic Dream) and Patheon (by Hermès).

Anker's stable manager Desiree Bleeker did not want to confirm the news to Horses.nl , but "but several reliable sources have confirmed to *De Paardenkrant* that the sale has gone through," Horses.nl stated. "Despite repeated requests, Desirée Bleeker has declined to comment to De Paardenkrant on the purchase of ‘Oosterbeek’
as certain details still need to be confirmed, and she will be able to provide further details at a later date regarding exactly what Anchor plans to do in Oosterbeek."

A part of the barn has already been rented to UAE dressage rider Natalie Lankester, the wife of Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, a member of the royal family in Dubai.
