America's former number one Grand Prix rider Laura Graves has welcome a baby girl into the world on 15 December 2021.
Graves and her husband Curt Maes became the proud parents of their first child, Mackenzie Elaine Maes.
"Ten days ago we welcomed Mackenzie Elaine Maes into our family," Graves took to Instagram on Christmas day. "Our hearts are so full."
The 34-year old Graves married Maes in October 2020 after almost nine years together.
Graves was the anchor of the U.S. dressage team from 2014 till 2019. She retired her top horse Verdades in 2020 and has no immediate successor to keep her afloat at Grand Prix level. In April 2021 she returned to the CDI ring at small tour level with SenSation HW.
Graves is now the last of the three female riders on the 2016 U.S. Olympic team that competed in Rio to have all delivered a baby this year. Alison Brock gave birth to a son in July and Kasey Perry-Glass in November.
