Lovisa Wessblad Moves Back Home to Sweden, to Work for Hannell

Former international young rider Lovisa Wessblad is moving back home to Sweden after having worked in Denmark for almost four years. She accepted a position on the riders' team at Hannell Dressage.

The 23-year old Wessblad decided on a career as a professional rider after her high school time. In school holidays she already savoured from a life with horses as a working student at Lovsta Stuteri. She went pro as a member of the riders' team at Helgstrand Dressage.

Wessblad made her international show debut as a young rider in 2018 aboard Adobe MB, a now 19-year old Swedish warmblood mare by Don Primero x Looping, which she sold to Swedish children rider Tindra Alricsson last year. Wessblad rode the mare at Young Riders level from 2018 till 2020.

She did one CDI as a senior in October 2020 in Vilhelmsborg on Quentin SV (by Quaterbak x De Niro). It was her last international start. This horse sold to Swedish young rider Ellen Hedbys.

With the young horse Francisca-D (by Franklin x Blue Hors Romanov) she was 20th and 11th at the 2021 and 2022 Danish Young Horse Championships.

Wessblad has now accepted a position under head rider Marina Mattsson at Hannell Dressage, which is located at Lynga Gård in Heberg on the Swedish west coast. The business is focused on producing and selling FEI horses and is run under the watchful eyes of Jan Brink.

" A sudden decision but sometimes an opportunity presents itself and you just have to take it," Wessblad said about her return to Sweden. "There are many mixed feelings to leave the Helgstrand-family after almost 4 years. (..) I’m very excited for what will come in this new chapter."
