On Ascension day 18 May 2023 at the CDI Munich, Dorothee Schneider rose to the top of the leader board with a new Grand Prix horse, Vainqueur. The chestnut stallion was produced and competed at Grand Prix level by Hubertus Schmidt and recently sold to Schneider's long-time sponsor.
Vainqueur is a 10-year old Hanoverian by Vivaldi out of Raissa (by Rubioso N x Absinth x Weltmeister). He is bred by Marten Hillmann.
Licensed
Owned by Axel and Sandra Schurner's Gestut Gut Neuenhof, the stallion was first licensed in October 2015 with the AES society, after which Oldenburg followed in 2017, Hanover in 2020 and Westfalia in 2021.
He did his 14-day stallion performance test in Neustadt-Dosse in September 2017 and scored 8.58 for dressage and 6.53 for show jumping, totalling 7.85 points. In 2018 he competed his stallion sport test in Munster-Handorf with 7.27 points and completed his mandatory licensing process with a score of 8.40 in the Bundeschampionate qualifier in Gleichen.
Hubertus Schmidt
The stallion was produced up to Grand Prix level under Hubertus Schmidt's supervision.
Danica Duen firsts competed him as a 3-year old in 2016, while in 2018 Hubertus Schmidt showed him as a 5-year old. In 2019 Schmidt swapped rides with his assistant Katharina Hemmer.
In 2020 Hubertus and Vainqueur competed on the Nurnberger Burgpokal circuit and made it to the finals after Dorothee Schneider dropped out. At the finals behind closed doors in Kronberg (due to the corona pandemic), the pair finished 9th.
Dorothee Schneider
Vainqueur had been offered for sale quietly on the market for a while and recently found a new owner in Dorothee Schneider's long-time sponsor, Gabriele Kippert who pooled together with her sister, Eva-Maria Mann.
Schneider and Vainqueur made their competition debut today in Munich in the national Intermediaire II class, which they won with 73.579%.
"I would like to thank him (Hubertus Schmidt) for the excellent training of this 10-year-old exceptional talent," Schneider stated. "We can now build on this basis. This also gives us the opportunity to present ourselves at such a big event as Munich."
Dorothee continued, "Thanks to the sisters Eva Maria Mann and Gabriele Kippert, the young man (Vainqueur) has now moved into a box at St. Stephan. I am very grateful to them for the opportunity to further train and present this horse. Today we were able to book our first victory at the first joint start ever and in a S*** class. I am overjoyed."
