Ellen Linden Urnes has sold her triple European Youth Championship team ride Fairy Tale to Swedish junior rider Laura Laustsen.
Fairy Tale is a 15-year old Westfalian gelding by Friedensritter out of Romina Power (by Rosenkavalier x Ulan x Arino). He is bred by Dietmar Kötter in Germany.
Start in Germany
The chestnut stallion was originally owned by Mathieu Beckmann and licensed for breeding, but he never did the performance test.
Instead he was focused on sport and was first competed by Demona Engelbrecht as a 3-year old at local shows in Westfalia in 2010.
In 2011 Tanja Krampe took place in the saddle and she competed him regionally through 2013. In the summer of 2013 it was Ann-Christin Wienkamp's turn, who produced him to small tour level before German based Swede Jessica Lynn Thomas took over in 2015.
Shortly afterwards the horse sold to the Linden Urnes family of Christinelund Dressage in Sweden.

Fairy Tale arrived in Sweden and was first competed by trainer Sofie Lexner at national small tour level in 2016 before Ellen began campaigning him in the autumn of 2016.
In 2019 Ellen returned on the Swedish team for European JR Championships in San Giovanni, where she placed 49th in the individual test. They won bronze at the Swedish Junior Riders Championships.
In 2020 the duo competed only nationally during the start of the corona pandemic as the Swedish Equestrian Federation decided not to send any teams to the European Championships. They had moved up to small your level.
They returned to the CDI ring in June 2021 in Hagen and rode at the 2021 European Young Riders Championships in Oliva Nova, where they placed 15th in the Kur Finals. They won gold at the 2021 Swedish Young Riders Championships in August.
Sold to Laustsen
Ellen Linden Urnes has now sold Fairy Tale to Swedish junior rider Laura Laustsen, who had her last year on ponies in 2021.
Fairy Tale Ending, School First
About the sale of her horse Linden Urnes stated, "even the very finest fairy tales have an end and so does mine and Fairy's. For almost seven years, Fairy has been my very best friend and I am eternally grateful for him and everything we got to experience together."
Linden Urnes added that "now new adventures await me to discover life without a horse." To Eurodressage she explained that, "I am taking a break from riding and competing to focus on my university studies." Ellen is in her second year for a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Society.
