Peggy Sue Nexen, a Danish team member for the 2022 World Young Horse Championships, will not be competing in Ermelo. She has been sold to France.

Peggy Sue Nexen is a 7-year old Danish Warmblood mare by Blue Hors Don Olymbrio L out of Pilinka II Nexen (by Andiamo x Temple Wind xx x Pilar). She is bred by Elin Houe and Hans Jul Andersen of Stutter Nexen in Denmark.

Bronze Medal Mare

The chestnut mare was a bronze medal winner at the Danish warmblood elite mare show.

Her competition career started rather late in life with her first show in 2021 when she was 6 years old. Peggy Sue Nexen has been first competed by Lotte Wiuff Straarup. The pair finished 15th in the 6-year old division at the 2021 Danish Young Horse Championships

As of 2022, Soren Wind took over the ride and rode her in six national shows in Denmark this season. In addition they were selected as one of just three combinations on the Danish team for the 7-year old division at the 2022 World Championships for young dressage horses in Ermelo which begin on 8 September 2022.

No Ermelo, Sold to France

Peggy Sue Nexen will not be making the journey to Ermelo as she has been sold to France after a video of the horse was posted on social media which caught the interest of the buyers.

"It is Søren Wind himself who has taken care of everything about the transaction, and unfortunately the buyers did not see it as an option that Søren could ride the World Championships before Peggy would be handed over. We sent her off on Saturday (27 August)," breeder and owner Elin Houe told Ridehesten.

The first reserve has been called up to ride in Ermelo: Anne-Marie Hosbon on EVO Schubidoo (by Blue Hors St. Schufro x Hotline).

Two for Marc Boblet

Peggy Sue Nexen has been sold to a sponsor of 51-year old former French Grand Prix team rider Marc Boblet.

Dressprod reported that Boblet also scored a second, new horse: the 8-year old KWPN bred Jordan P (by Johnson x Kennedy x Goodtimes)
