Fry Withdraws Everest from 2025 WCYH In Verden, Reserve Called Up

Charlotte Fry will not be competing her 7-year old Everest at the 2025 World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden. The horse has been sold and the Dutch team reserve called up.

Everest is a 2018 born KWPN bred and NRPS registered stallion by Especial out of Fresia (by Negro x Monaco x Sultan). He is bred by Gert-Jan van Olst and was originally named Nadal.

He became a licensed stallion for the NRPS studbook in 2021 and completed the 2022 NRPS performance test, scoring 7 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, 8.5 for rideability, 9 for self carriage and 9 for dressage potential. he totalled 84.7 points. After his NRPS licensing his name changed from Nadal to Everest.  Sadie Smith briefly presented him at the KWPN approval, where he was rejected.

He was first shown in 2021 under Van Olst assistant rider Alvaro Conesa de Oliveira with whom he won a regional KWPN Young Dressage Talent competition.

Everest became a double WCYH participant. As a 5-year old he was competed by then assistant rider Phoebe Peters (GBR), who rode the grey to a 15th place in the consolation finals with 78.200% in 2023. The pair won the Pavo Cup Finals.

A year later Charlotte Fry got on board and she piloted the horse to a 5th place in the 6-year old consolation finals at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships. He completed the 2024 KWPN stallion performance test in spring and was accepted for KWPN breeding.

This year Fry won the KWPN Stallion Competition Final in Den Bosch and showed Everest in three CDI's: At the start of the year the 7-year old showed in the small tour at the CDI Lier, placing second twice. He did the Prix St Georges at the CDI-W 's Hertogenbosch to finish 8th, and at the CDI Exloo he won the two 7-year old classes with 75.700 and 74.729%. He was selected on the Dutch team for the 2025 WCYH but did not travel to Verden as he has a new destination on his roster.

Sold to the U.S.A.

Evererst has been pulled from showing in Verden because he has been sold. The KWPN studbook announced that the horse sold to the U.S.A. but the identity of the buyer is not yet revealed. 

The reserve has been called up: Nashville Sw (by Secret) under Femke de Laat.
