Angèle Toonen-Arts Named KWPN Breeder of the Year 2025

Angèle Toonen-Arts has been named the KWPN Breeder of the Year 2025 during the KWPN Horse Days on 1 August 2025. She lives in Odiliapeel, The Netherlands, and has bred nine Grand Prix horses.

KWPN inspector Floor Droge said, "Angèle's breeding story began about 45 years ago. Her father bought a not-too-big showjumping mare with a strong will. She turned out to be the proverbial goose that laid golden eggs. Not only could the not-so-large mare move incredibly well herself, she also passed this on to her offspring."

Nataly (by Irco Polo x Helmar) and her daughter Fanaat (by Aktion) started it all.

Winner T

Her most successful broodmare is Winner T (by Jazz x Zeoliet). She produced international Grand Prix horses Entertainer Win T (by Rousseau - under Paulina Holzknecht) and Infinity Win T (by Everdale - under Roy First) as well as the licensed stallion Grand Galaxy Win T (by Apache), who is now gelded and retired from sport due to injury.

Zeester T

Winner's full sister Zeester T (by Jazz x Zeoliet) produced three Grand Prix horses, the most famous on U.S. Olympic team horse Helix (by Apache - under Adrienne Lyle), who was originally named Handsome Zee T. Zeester also produced Gladstone Zee T (by Apache - under Chase Shipka), Jackpot Zee T (by Ampere - under Austin Webster) and Karnival Zee T (by Eye Catcher - small tour under Britt Gellens).

Licensed Stallions

Two further licensed stallions come from her mare line.

The 10-year old Koning is by Governor out of Gucci Boa T (by Bretton Woods x Florencio). He was briefly shown by Emmelie Scholtens before selling to France and disappearing off the grid.

The 6-year old licensed stallion One Million (by. Vivaldi x Apache x Negro), who is bred by R Gotink based on Toonen's Fanaat mare line
