2025 Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships

The 3-year old Balvenie VH, the 4-year old Mackmyras Amorino, the 5-year old KS Frank Sinatra, the 6-year old Severucci HT, and the 7-year old Vidar became the winners of the 2025 Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships that were held on 29 September - 5 October 2025.

Also known as the Breeders Trophy, this championship has many names as they are referred to as the SWB Equestrian Weeks, covering dressage, eventing, and show jumping. They are held in the former Swedish state stud of Flyinge.

Fifty-six 3-year olds gathered in Flyinge on Sunday afternoon for their last title match of the week. Tobias Hansson rode his own stallion Balvenie VH (by Be Sure x Floricello) to the title with a 90.875% score after getting 9.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 8.7 forcanter, 9.3 for general impression and 9 for perspective. Silver went to Mattias Åstrand aboard the mare Adrenaline (by Viva Gold x Ampere) with 87.250 points. Adrenaline won a special prize for being the best scoring mare in the class. The bronze was Tobias Hansson on HxH Savoie VH (by Springbank II x Van Vivaldi) with the same points as Adrenaline, 87.250 points.

In the popular 4-year old class, which sees two rounds counting for the overall ranking, Lina Dolk and Mackmyras Amorino (by Majestic Taonga x Ampere) bested the field. After winning the first round with 87.667 points, test rider Benjamin Werndl also preferred this gelding in his final round and rewarded the horse 91 points. Amorino, who is bred by Cecilia and Andreas Strömberg, scored a winning total of 89.334 points. The silver was for Annie Walfridsson on Torpgårdens Benzema (by Quaterhit x Bayron), while bronze went to Linn Larsson on Rapple VH (by Revolution x Morricone).

Judges Mats Eriksson, Marie Knutsson and Susanne Baarup did the sorting in the 5-year old age category and Lovisa Wessblad surfaced at the top aboard Hannell's KS Frank Sinatra (by Franklin x Fürst Romancier) with 86.000 points. The bay gelding, who is bred by Kärragårda Säteri, scored 9.0 for trot, 7.8 for walk, 8.8 for canter, 8.6 for submission, and 8.8 for perspective. Joining them on the podium were Jennifer Svensson on Stable Millegarne's Santorio (by Vivaldon x Prestige VDL) with 85.600 points and Australian Alicia Ryan aboard Västra Hoby Stuter's Morricello II VH (by Morricone x Floricello) with 85.400

The 6-year old finals were judged by Bo Jena, Pia Fälth and Susanne Baarup and saw 2024 WCYH medal winner Severucci HT prolong his national title. Under Jeanna Hogberg, the Swedish bred Secret x Rubinrot son topped the leader board with 87.600 points. The liver chestnut stallion, who is bred and owned by Gabriella Grewin bramberg, got 8 for walk, 9.4 for trot, 9 for canter, 8.4 for submission and 9 for perspective. After missing out on the 2025 World Young Horse Championships, Severucci captured his second, consecutive national title. He edged out Yvonne Osterholm on Soretto (by St. Schufro x Quaterback) with 86.200 and Lina Dolk on Hpnotiq MJ (by Springbank II VH x Floricello) with 85.800%.

Twelve pairs competed in the 7-year old finals which was dominated by WCYH participants and judged by Baarup, Jena, and Tundi Andersson. The title was won by Anna Svanberg aboard her own and Kerso equestrian's gelding Vidar (by Total Hope x Dalwhinnie) with 79.343%. The horse got 9 for walk, 8.9 for trot, 8.4 for cantr, 8.2 for submission and 8.7 for perspective and a technical test score of 72.286%. Danish based Spaniard Eric Gardia Martinez landed second place aboard the Swedish bred and owned Francesca VH (by Franklin x Floricello) with 78.329% while Lovisa Wessblad and Simmebros De Luze (by Ironman H x Shooting Star) were third with 76.272%.
