The 5-year old Renzo, the 6-year old Power Dutch, and the 7-year old Obsession Taonga became the winners of the 2026 KWPN Stallion Competition Finals in 's Hertogenbosch on Friday 30 January 2026.
Qualifiers and Finals
After three qualifiers this winter in Kronenberg, Ijsselmuiden and Groniningn, the finals were traditionally held during the KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch.
When a stallion gets KWPN approved as a three-year-old, it is required that he participates in the stallion competition as a four- or five-year-old. Only KWPN-approved stallions that have competed in all three competitions are permitted to participate in the finals. In Den Bosch a "day winner" is proclaimed but also the overall winner of the Finals.
The stallions were presented to the public by age/training level with Alex van Silfhout providing public commentary and a jury scoring the gaits and rideability.
L-Level: Renzo
British Olympian Charlotte Fry has been presenting Renzo (by Kjento x Rousseau) at the qualifiers but for the finals, British colleague Sadie Smith was flown in to help Fry with the workload of horses she had to compete in Den Bosch. Renzo scored 92,4 in Kronenberg, 90 in Ijsselmuiden, and 93 in Groningen to head to Den Bosch with 275,4 points on the ranking. Renzo is bred by Willem and Karin Reijrink
The runner-up was Renzo's stable mate, Real Dream (by Dynamic Dream x Negro), bred by Maatschap Pleyter and H.A. van Triest. Under Fry he won two qualifiers and had 273 points on the ranking.
M-level: Hexagon's Power Dutch

Thamar Zweistra and the home bred Hexagon's Power Dutch (by Toto jr x Double Dutch) topped the leader board after receiving 9.8 for walk, 8.3 for trot, 8 for canter and harmony and 8.5 for general impression. He got a finals' score of 85.2 added to his qualifier score of 267,6 for a winning overall total of 352,8
Charlotte Fry and Pjethro (by Kjento x Desperado) were the leaders after the three qualifiers but there was too much tension in the finals in Den. Bosch. The stallion couldn't relax in walk and it affected his score (73.2) to bring his overall total to 344,4 points for second place.
Z-Level: Obsession Taonga

World young horse champion Red Viper (by Romanov) was supposed to compete in the Finals with Dinja van Liere but withdrew before the event due to a tooth infection. also popular breeding stallion Extreme US (by Escamillo) was withdrawn.
