WCYH Silver Medal Winner Destello OLD Moves to Switzerland

Beatrice Hoffrogge's Swiss owned Oldenburg licensed stallion Destello OLD has moved to Switzerland to continue his sport career under the owner.

Destello OLD is a 10-year old Oldenburg by Dimaggio out of Gritt's Gretchen (by Furst Fugger x Royal Dance). He is bred by Stefanie Löhmann.

Licensed Stallion

Owned by Swiss Sophie Fabri, the horse was first licensed by the Hanoverian society after the performance test in Adelheidsdorf in November 2020 followed by a private licensing of the Oldenburg verband in December 2020. A year later also Baden-Wurttemberg and Westfalen approved him.

At the 50-day stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf he was the highest scoring horse and earned a score of 9,38 for dressage.

Sport Career

Destello's sport career started even before he got licensed. Beatrice Hoffrogge-Buchwald began showing him in 2019 and rode the horse to the title at the 2019 Bundeschampionate. In 2020 they qualified again for Warendorf but did not ride the Final.

In 2021 the pair did some very light showing but in 2022 they got selected to represent Germany at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they earned silver.

2023 was the last year Hoffrogge showed Destello. She rode him in some Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifiers in Hagen, Elmlohe and Görlitz. The latter show in August 2023 was the pair's last.

Move to Switzerland

Since then Destello has moved to his owner's country Switzerland where he is continuing his sport career.

Under Sophie Fabri, Destello made his show debut last weekend at the CDN Bern in the Prix St Georges. They placed 13th with 65.39%
