Viva Vegas, High Scorer of the 2023 Danish Autumn Stallion Performance Test

Viva Vegas became the high scoring stallion of the 2023 Danish Autumn Stallion Performance test in Torring, Denmark. The testing, which is led by Torben Frandsen, concluded on 26 November 2023 and around 100 spectators came to watch the final rides. 

From Fifteen to Twelve

Fifteen stallions were entered for the testing, 9 of them are (co-)owned by Helgstrand Dressage. Twelve ended up completing the test and passed the exam. The three stallions that dropped out of the testing are For Royalty (by For Romance x Franziskus), Midt-West Evolution (by Revolution x Jazz), and 2023 Danish young horse championship bronze medal winner One To Remember (by Secret x Vivaldi).

Two of the stallions that passed (Bueno SL and Gørklintgårds Million) did not score the minimum requirement of 800 points but they showed enough quality to be presented in hand at the 2024 Danish warmblood stallion licensing in Herning on equal footing with the rest to get confirmed in their approval, as Danish warmblood communicated

Allan Grøn served as test rider for the licensing committee.  

Licensing committee member Vicky Nortvig was particularly satisfied that the stallions' character. "We saw stallions who wanted to work under a rider and who showed a high degree of rideability, which was also reflected in the rideability grades that ranged from 7.5 to 9.0," DWB stated.

Top Three

The Hanoverian bred DSP premium stallion Viva Vegas (by Viva Gold x Rock Forever x Florestan) became the high scorer of the crop. He achieved 892 points. He earned 8.5 and 9 for rideability, 8.5 for walk, 89 for trot, 9 and 9.5 for canter and between 9 and 9.5 for potential.

The second best scorer was Straight Horse Leonardo (by Lord Europe x De Niro), owned by Straight Horse and Helgstrand Dressage. He finished on a total of 844.5 points. He scored 8.0 and 8.5 across the board for gaits and potenti. His rideability earned between 8.5 and 9.0. 

Atterupgaards Bernachi (by Bon Courage x Caprimond) landed third place with 831.5 points. He got 7.0 and 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot and 8.5 and 9.0 for canter.
