Helen Langehanenberg's rising Grand Prix mare Schöne Scarlett has been sold to a German based dressage rider from Hong Kong.
Schöne Scarlett is a 12-year old Hanoverian mare by Scolari x Londonderry, bred and owned by Heidi and Wilfried Bouws.
Geibel, Hess, Rohrbacher, Rossek, Langehanenberg
Schöne Scarlett was first trained and competed by Johannes Geibel, before moving to Philip Hess. In 2018 it was Leslie Rohrbacher who continued to produce her and they were successful on the 2018 Bundeschampionate show circuit, winning the Uder qualifier followed by a silver medal in Warendorf. In 2019 they were 12th in the Bundeschampionate finals.
In February 2020 Bouws had moved the mare to Inka Rossek, but that partnership was very short-lived. Schöne Scarlett was moved again to Helen Langehanenberg.
Helen Langehanenberg and Shona Benner
Helen and Scarlett made their show debut at the end of May 2020. In 2021 they made their international show debut in Aachen, winning the Prix St Georges and in December 2021 they were the reserve champions in the Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals in Kronberg.
At the end of 2021 Langehanenberg temporarily gave up the ride on Schöne Scarlett to her student, German junior Shona Benner, who premiered the mare at junior level in March 2022 and debuted her internationally at the CDI Ornago the same month. They tried riding for a spot on the German team at the qualifier in Hagen, placing third in the CDI-J team test, but then dropping to 15th place in the individual. They finished their one season together moving up to Young Riders level and by being invited to the CDI-YR tour at the 2022 CDIO Aachen, where they finished 14th and 15th.
Langehanenberg was back on board almost a year later, premiering the mare at Grand Prix level in July 2023. They were 9th in the 2023 Louisdor Cup Final in Frankfurt. Their international Grand Prix debut was at the CDI Tolbert in April 2024, where they scored 68.978% in the Grand Prix. At the CDI Wiesbaden their GP score went up to 71.000%, in Kronberg it was 68.152% and at their final international as a pair, they were third in the Grand Prix with 69.913%
Hong Kong
Schöne Scarlett has now been sold to German based Hong Kong dressage rider Angie Qin and her partner Henry.
For the past two years the couple has been based at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, Germany, and has been investing in high quality dressage horses. They have built up a string of eight talented dressage horses. Angie has been training with Team Kasselmann and is gaining experience at shows in Germany. In 2024 she has competed Fiero (by Furst Heinrich x Diabolo) and Bazinga HB (by Bon Coeur x Wittinger) amongst others.
Schöne Scarlett has now joined the collection as a Grand Prix schoolmaster to learn and improve on.
