Garrett, a Grand Prix horse which Fie Skarsoe competed internationally from 2023 through 2025, has got a new rider: 22-year old Alice Rouyr.

Garrett is a 15-year old Lusitano by Unico out of Samarra (by Go-Go). He is bred by Sociedade Agricola Da Foz Do Alviela.

Portuguese Team Horse

The grey began his international sport career under Vasco Mira Godinho in April 2019. They debuted at the CDI Alter do Chao at medium tour level. Ten months later they moved up to Grand Prix level at the CDI Cascais in February 2020. They won bronze at the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix Championships.

In 2021 they were named second reserve for the Portuguese Olympic team. The pair competed internationally through 2022. Their last start was when they were part of the Portuguese team at the 2022 World Championships in Herning. They finished 83rd in the Grand Prix with 63.370%.

Fie Skarsoe

Garrett sold to Peter Jan Schlüschen and the ownership changed on the FEI passport in July 2023.

The ride on Garrett was allocated to Fie Skarsoe and she made her international debut at the 2023 CDI Deauville, followed by Salzburg. In 2024 Skarsoe rode him at one CDI that year, in October in Troisdorf. The pair won silver at the 2024 Luxembourg Grand Prix Championships.

In 2025 the duo went to Hamburg, Jardy and Deauville with scores between 66% and 71%.

Alice Rouyr

After a one-year absence from international showing Garrett returned to the CDI ring in Macon, France, in July 2026 with Alice Rouyr in the saddle. The duo competed in the under 25 short Grand Prix, but withdrew from the Kur.

"I’m so happy what l achieved together with Garrett and you know my passion is to make young riders good riders and let their dreams come true, together with their horses," trainer Fie Skarsoe told Eurodressage. "Alice is a true horse loving girl and a great rider, l want to give her the opportunity to learn from Garrett."

Rouyr began her international career on pony Bolero des Baux at the CDI Grote-Brogel in July 2020. She moved to junior level in 2022 aboard France von Roesgen's Zabaione (by Zack x Wandergesell) and to Young Riders level in 2023. A three-year break from CDI showing followed and Alice returned at the CDI Macon, not only with Garrett but also with Heike Klein's 6-year old Back in Black R (by Dezember x Millennium).

"Alice is my assistant rider since 1 May 2026," Fie explained as the 22-year old is pursuing a professional career in riding.

Skarsoe inherited Garrett from sponsor Schlüschen, who passed away on 3 September 2026.
