German Team pony Carleo Go has found a new rider in the 11-year old German rising FEI pony rider Emma Sophie Dankenbring.
Carleo Go is a 14-year old German Riding pony gelding by Constantin out of Wolf (by Weltmeyer x Aderlass x Goetz). He is bred by Maria Brocks.
Young Pony Success
Originally named Carl Leopold, the bay was initially owned by Hildegard Elders. He was renamed Carleo Go.
The ride was first allocated to Anna-Lisa Theile and she debuted him in the riding pony classes in May 2013 in Haven. They qualified for the 2013 Bundeschampionate and won gold.
Carleo Sold to the Schmitz-Heinen family and moved to Hof am Eifgen. In 2014 Paulina Holzknecht was allocated the ride and placed seventh at the Bundeschampionate. A year later they won bronze in the 5-year old dressage pony division in Warendorf. In 2016 the pony did only one show.
A year later he returned briefly under Nele Lobbert, before Holzknecht was back in the saddle to compete the pony at M** level. She showed him through 2019.
German Team Pony
As of 2020 the owner's daughter, Julie Sofie Schmitz-Heinen, began competing Carleo Go, first at the local show in Lindlar-Süttenbach. At the 2020 German Pony Championships they were 8th.
The pair made its international debut in Compiegne in 2021 and won the team and individual test and kur to music. They were third in the Preis der Besten and after the CDI Hagen qualified on the team to compete at the 2021 European Pony Championships in Pilisjazfalu (HUn), where they won team gold and placed fourth individually.
In 2022 they showed at CDI's in Le Mans and Hagen, won the Preis der Besten and returned to the European Pony Championships in Strzegom (POL), where they won team gold, individual test bronze and were 13th in the Kur. Julie rode her second pony Chilly Morning at the 2022 German Pony Championships.
In 2023 Julie had her last season on Carleo Go, riding him in Hagen and Le Man and claiming four wins out of five tests, but her main focus was on Chilly Morning at the time. She won silver at the 2023 German Pony Championships with Carleo Go. It was the pony's last show, so far. He did not compete in 2024.
