Hexagon's Ich Weiss Sold to the U.S.A.

Thamar Zweistra has sold Hexagon's Ich Weiss, the Grand Prix horse that put her on the Dutch senior team for the first time in 2022. The grey has moved to the United States.  Dressprod first reported the news.

Ich Weiss is a 13-year old NRPS registered by Rubiquil out of Vinegra Utopia (by Negro x De Niro). He is bred by the late Leunus van Liere.

Under Thamar Zweistra he made his show debut a a 6-year old in September 2019 at ZZ-Zwaar level and soon found their swing at shows. They made their CDI show debut in February 2020 at small tour level in Le Mans. His international Grand Prix debut was at age 8 in 2021 and competed at CDi's in Le Mans, Opglabbeek, Mariakalnok, Zandhoven, Aachen and Herning that first year.

Their break through year was 2022 when the pair qualified for the 2022 World Cup Finals in Leipzig, where they placed 11th. They were on the Dutch team for the FEI Nations Cups in Compiegne and Rotterdam. At the 2022 Dutch Championships they got silver. They were nominated on the Dutch team for the World Championships in Herning, Thamar's first major FEI senior summer championship. At the World Championships they were 2àth in the Special with 73.359%.

Zweistra and Ich Weiss went full steam ahead after Herning showing in the World Cup qualifiers of Lyon, Madrid and Den Bosch to make it to the 2023 World Cup Finals in Omaha, where they were 9th with 78.204% in the Kur.  They did the FEI Nations Cups in Compiegne, Aachen and Falsterbo and were back on the Dutch team for the 2023 European Championships in Riesenbeck, where they were 22nd in the Special with 72.432%.

Ich Weiss was licensed as a breeding stallion with the NRPS studbook in 2023 following a home licensing. He received "Rubiquil's Ich Weiss" as his NRPS stallion name. He was also approved for AES.

Zweistra enjoyed her World Cup run and went on repeat in the winter of 2023-2024 with starts in Lyon, Mechelen, Gothenburg and Den Bosch to head to the 2024 World Cup Finals in Riyadh, where they were eliminated for blood. They returned to shows in Aachen, Fot and Herning. 

In 2025 the pair only did three showed: Amsterdam, Den Bosch and Pilisjaszfalu. At the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix Championships they were third in the consolation final. Ich Weiss was up for sale. Between 2020 and 2025 and the ages of 7 and 12 he showed in no less than 81 international classes.

Move to the U.S.A.

Ich Weiss sold to April Batcheller in the U.S.A. and has been stabled with Canadian Olympian Chris von Martels, who coaches Batcheller. The 45-year old is a gynaecologist by profession and has been competing at national level in the U.S.A.

The 45-year old is a gynaecologist by profession and has been competing at national level in the U.S.A. She has been showing since 2006 on High Light (by Hohenstein x Wanderbusch II). Her next horse was Argento (by Sandreo x Lauries Crusador xx) and in 2023 she acquired Emma Hindle's Diesel (by Vivaldi x Havidoff), who was advertised for sale on Eurodressage's Equimarket

At the 2026 Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, she has been competing Diesel and Despacita (by Destano x Wanderbusch I).
